Helix starts work on unusual dream home in Berkshire village

Helix has started building work on a large luxury home in the Berkshire village of Wargrave.

The new property is a bespoke six-bedroom family house, which will feature a living  ‘green wall’, an internal climbing wall and energy-efficient air-source heating with  mechanical ventilation system.

SME Contractor and Construction Manager Helix Group, based in Newbury, began  work on site in Victoria Road last month and the 5,000 square foot property is due to  be completed by November 2021.

The high-specification private home, designed by Buckinghamshire-based JW  Architects, will also include polished concrete floors, an outdoor dining terrace and  hot tub.

Carl Mulkern, Managing Director of Helix Group, said:

“We are really excited to be  working on this distinctive, luxury family home.

“An internal climbing wall is an unusual request but will provide a fun activity for the  family and their visitors, which they can enjoy whatever the weather.

“The ‘green wall’ will create a vertical garden on one aspect of the building. As well  as being a striking and attractive feature.”

Carl added:

“We are pleased to be so busy with a range of projects following this  year’s lockdown. Our team is expert at building brilliant homes every time, with a  focus on excellent customer service and the highest quality standards – and Fairfield  will be a beautiful example of this.”

The clients said:

“We visited Helix’s recently completed housebuilding scheme, Croft  Lane, in Newbury and was so impressed with the quality of the finishes they  achieved, that we thought they would be the ideal company to create our dream  home.”
