Helix Construct, an SME contractor and consultancy, has won a place on a South East Consortium framework to build affordable homes over the next three years.
The SEC – which is owned by its 41 housing association and local authority members – expects the framework to be used by its members to build new homes and other projects worth around £250m in total. At present SEC members manage more than 400,000 homes.
Helix, which is already working with a number of local authority and housing association clients, will help housing providers with projects worth up to £5m across the Thames Valley and elsewhere in the South of England.

Carl Mulkern, Managing Director of Helix Construct, said: “This is a really important win for us as a growing SME builder. We are delighted the SEC has chosen to work with us and can’t wait to begin delivering projects for its members.
“The framework allows us to support SEC members in the South of England and further afield into the rest of the country as needed. We have invested significantly in growing our business in the past year, bringing many great new people on board to ensure we continue to deliver high-quality homes and other buildings. We are ready to hit the ground running for SEC members.”
