Helix Secures Contract to Develop Platt Estate for Wandsworth Borough Council

Helix Group, an expert SME builder, is proud to announce its recent appointment by Wandsworth Borough Council to spearhead the construction of a new housing project on Platt Estate. This marks a significant milestone for Helix Group, as it continues to contribute to the development and enhancement of communities across the region.

The Platt Estate project will introduce 12 new homes to the area, strategically divided into 8 homes on the southern site and 4 homes on the northern site. The development will feature a combination of 4 and 2-storey buildings, offering a range of 1 to 2-bedroom residences, catering to the diverse housing needs of the local community.

Emphasizing inclusivity, the new homes will include fully wheelchair-accessible units, ensuring that individuals with varying mobility requirements can comfortably reside in these thoughtfully designed spaces. The project aligns with Wandsworth Borough Council’s commitment to addressing local housing demands and providing homes that meet the highest standards of accessibility.

Like Helix Group’s successful Hemel Hempstead project with Dacorum Borough Council, the Platt Estate initiative aims to enhance the community landscape by addressing housing shortages and replacing outdated structures. The project is the result of collaborative efforts with Wandsworth Borough Council and reflects the outcomes of a thorough public consultation process.

Nic Davies, CEO at Helix Group, expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming project, stating, “We are excited to commence work on the Platt Estate homes in collaboration with Wandsworth Borough Council. Our commitment to delivering well-thought-out and well-built properties aligns with the aspirations of local residents and the Council. This development will offer affordable housing solutions, enabling both young families and older residents to thrive in this vibrant community.”
