Some sites look simple. This one wasn’t.
Tight town-centre footprint. Heritage sensitivities. Complex land and legal position.
The former Blandford Brewery site has been stuck in limbo for years, but we’ve just moved it forward.
Helix Partnership Homes has:
✔️ Exchanged contracts with Homes England
✔️ Signed the development agreement with Stonewater Housing
Next up: 21 affordable homes for Blandford.
A mix of affordable rent and shared ownership, tailored to the needs of the local community.
This is our second site from Homes England, following our success at Moreton-in-Marsh where residents moved in last year.
This deal needed more than just persistence.
It took coordination across planning, legal and technical teams.
And a developer willing to stay with it when things got complicated.
We got it there.
Thanks to:
Matthew Crucefix and Katharine Eulenkamp from Stonewater, Sam Evison from Homes England, and Alexandra Benion at Pinsent Masons for their work getting this over the line.
The scheme now moves into detailed planning, building on a strong pre-app response last year. Homes will be energy-efficient, future-proofed, and designed to reflect the character of the town.
We’re not here for quick wins.
We’re here to build the homes people really need, in the places that matter.
