A 6-storey, concrete-frame project, bringing 25 affordable apartments to the Hackney community in partnership with Islington & Shoreditch Housing Association Ltd.
Made possible with grant funding from the Greater London Authority, we overcame industry challenges including rising construction costs, labour shortages and soaring interest rates affecting scheme viability. As an SME with Tier 1 experience, Helix weathered the storm through client, funder and supply chain collaboration and we’re now on target to deliver on-programme in 2025. Thank you to Scott Bryant and Geraldine Hart from the Greater London Authority and our special guests from ISHA for joining us for a site tour starting at the stunning St Matthias church and witnessing the laying of commemorative bricks to mark the occasion. The bricklaying technique shown by Islington & Shoreditch Housing Association Ltd very own Ruth Davison was exceptional. Timing really is everything as this project comes just as Angela Rayner MP announces a Government pledge to deliver 1.5m homes with a 50% commitment to affordable delivery. We are ready for the challenge!
