Greenman, Highmoor, Henley-on-Thames
Consulting
Helix was appointed initially to provide a feasibility cost plan for this substantial extension to the highest specification to a period property near Henley-On-Thames. An appointment to deliver the scheme as construction manager swiftly followed. The project involved complex alterations to the period roof structure, including significant temporary propping to allow the installation of new high-end aluminium bi-folding doors. The interior fit out included the installation of new steel column radiator heating, exquisite bespoke stone sanitary ware, flooring and tiling to several en-suite bathrooms and the creation of a new, large, open-plan, vaulted-ceiling kitchen.
Project Summary
- A substantial extension and remodelling of a period property
- A construction management form of procurement
- High-quality finishes, including bespoke stone sanitaryware and flooring
- Completed in July 2018
Key Features
- Construction Management
In selecting a construction management form of procurement, our client was able to take complete control of their budget. As construction manager, Helix provided a complete project management package, including site supervision and procurement. However, the client retained complete visibility and approval of every pound spent. - Managing budget and design
With any complex refurbishment project, it is important that appropriate budgetary allowance is made for unknown risk and the team has the ability to adapt quickly with design change. We were able to manage substantial changes required to the existing drainage installations, while maintaining a fix on the client’s budget.
