Following an invitation to visit one of our existing projects as it approached completion, our client appointed Helix as main contractor for their major renovation and new-build project. This saw us complete major alterations, renovations and extensions to the client’s large, six-bedroom, luxury, family home, together with the conversion of stables to a new residential space, in the beautiful village of Cookham, just near the Thames in Berkshire. The project included significant structural alterations and required substantial temporary propping to facilitate the installation of new structural steelwork and revised internal layouts. All existing entire electrical, plumbing and heating installations were removed and replaced and the entire house was re-plastered to an exceptionally high standard. New aluminium windows and glazed balconies were installed, with new timber cladding to the elevations.
- Six-bedroom luxury house and converted stables
- The main house was completed in March 2020
- Positive feedback received from local residents
- Significant structural alterations
The project required substantial temporary propping to allow the installation of new structural steelwork that provided the new internal layouts. Our design and construction experience ensured works were completed safely and to the highest standard.
- Sensitive, high-quality finishes
The highest standard of finish was achieved, including works to the existing stables. This required appropriate sensitivity to an existing structure and finish, to ensure a design and quality that was complimentary to the existing function and age of the building.
